This pink pig is an infant toy that exposes babies to counting, colors, animals and sizes through the friendly role play of a piggy bank theme. In the Learning Mode, baby can drop one of the 10 colorful coins into the generous slot on the top to hear musical rewards as the Piggy Bank counts for each coin dropped. Press the "nose" for friendly sounds and a song about counting, colors, and big and small. In the Music Mode, each coin drop will play one of five short ditties. Press the "nose" for fun sounds and an additional song. In either mode, baby can open the clear door for music as the coins tumble out and the tail spins for additional play. Requires 3 "AAA" batteries (included).
| love this toy! | 2008-11-15 | 4 / 5 |
| | So, even though the little plastic door opens and shuts whenever it feels like it and is not durable, I love this toy. My daughter who is 16 months, has loved this toy since the moment we opened it (at about 13 months). She can sit down and play with this for over 20 minutes. Every time she gets a coin through the slot she shouts YAY!!!!! A toy that makes my kid this happy makes me want to shout YAY too!!! This is a handy way to help children learn hand-eye coordination, counting and colors. The songs it plays are adorable, and it counts with the kid as they put the coins in. |
| Excellent for my one year old and three year old children | 2008-11-14 | 5 / 5 |
| We got this last Christmas, and both of my children still love it. Last year, it was a challenge for my baby to put the coins in the slot and then open the door to remove it, so I just gave him one coin at a time. Perfect! At the same time, my two year old liked to count the coins and then put them all in.
Now my one year old enjoys making the pig do the different songs and noises, while my three year old actually uses it to practice counting coins as they drop it.
It has held up well with minimal battery usage (even though we leave it on 24/7) and little wear. It has a volume switch, so it is very quiet and there are no annoying flashy lights or loud noises. |
| Love that singing, counting pig! | 2008-11-06 | 5 / 5 |
| We were given this as a birthday present for our 1 year old, and she absolutely loves it. Before it was out of the box, she was making it go off and screaching hysterically (she loves pigs). Once we pulled it out, she immediately started opening and closing the side door. She put the coins in the side door one by one, then took them out, closed the door, opened it again and started over. It didn't take her long to find the sensor in the slot, and she started setting it off on her own (and she was so proud). She now puts the coins in the slot with ease and twists from side to side with the music. She can play with it for half an hour and she doesn't seem at all bored.
She rolls the pig around the floor, picks it up, drops it, climbs over it and it's still in one piece and working beautifully. I thought for sure the plastic door would've snapped off by now, but it hasn't. We are very pleased and will probably buy this toy for our friends' children! |
| great basic toy | 2008-11-03 | 5 / 5 |
| | My son's had this toy for about two years (he's 3) and it's still a favorite. I've tried to get rid of it but he won't let me. He likes being able to put all the coins in and take them back out without help. I like it because it's very sturdy; I know some people have had problems with the door popping off, but ours is still fine. And it's quiet! Some of his other toys drive me nuts, but I hardly notice this one. Overall, it's a great basic toy, kids love it and it has educational value--can't ask for much more than that. |
| A favorite 1st birthday toy | 2008-10-19 | 5 / 5 |
| | We got this toy for my son's first birthday. He enjoys the reward of the pig singing or counting when he gets a coin in the slot. It is great for building fine motor skills at his age. The coins are different sizes and colors and I'm sure we'll have fun sorting them as he gets a bit older. The door to the piggy bank is too difficult for him to open by himself, but I don't mind opening it for him when he has it filled. I only wish my son wouldn't take the toys to other parts of the house any try to slide them in anywhere narrow (like under the sofa, between books, under doors, etc.). I sometimes have to have a scavanger hunt for the coins. |
