Kids can "whistle while they work" on this child-sized tool bench that features favorite Sesame Street friends. Kids can use a Cookie Monster drill press and a Bert and Ernie circular saw to complete all kinds of imaginary projects. They can turn gears on Oscar's trash, too. Elmo keeps all the tools handy and encourages pretend carpenters to use a hammer or screwdriver. Requires 3 "AA" batteries (included). Measures 31.25" x 14 x 23".

Busy toddlers who need to "do it myself" can join the ranks of DIYers with this kid-size tool bench. With a hammer, circular saw, drill, wrench, gears, boards, screws, and screwdriver, the sturdy plastic bench has everything needed to build impressive (imaginary) projects. Elmo oversees the work, holding several of the tools himself, while Cookie Monster, Bert, and Ernie take charge of drilling and sawing. Push down on the saw or tighten some screws and hear the appropriate buzzing and "skreeking" sounds. Beware of the corny jokes ("Hey Ernie, I saw that! Get it? Heh heh heh heh.") and goofy songs ("I've been working on the tool bench"). There is no volume control, and the sound is very loud, but veteran parents know all about the magic of a little well-placed packing tape over speakers. Do-it-yourself parents who would prefer that their children not handle real power drills and circular saws will truly appreciate this tool bench…and will probably spend more time than they care to admit playing with it themselves. The tools are similar enough to the real thing that little builders will probably learn a thing or two, too! Assembly is quick and intuitive. Requires three "AA" batteries (batteries included are for demonstration purposes only).--Emilie Coulter

Loves his "Ork bents"2007-07-255 / 5
My 2 year old grandson loves to pound (and pound and pound) on this toy. You know you have been accepted as a friend when he hands you the hammer and says. "Ew hit it". The puppy kept trying to run off with the smaller parts but a couple times of Robby crowning him with the toy hammer put the stops to that. My daughter loves it because she knows where Robby is and what he is doing when he plays with it due to the pound, pound, pound. If you are prone to migrains, do not buy this toy, but otherwise it is great.

It's an ok toy. My son loved it. We got it for him for Christmas. Some of the noises get annoying after a while. Still, it's pretty cool. I rather him play w/ these tools than mine.
Sesame Street Sing n' Giggle Tool Bench 2 thumbs up2007-02-224 / 5
My son was 17 months when he got this and loved to play with it! I got him all the extras to it, the drill, and tool belt I think are a must have.....He plays with them all and its great to have the additional tools so you can play along with them. He is now 19 months and still going strong with it. I would give it 5 stars if it had more songs to it and more attachments to keep it around as he continues to grow.

Why is this $119.00 when every other vendor sells it for $50 or less?
TOO LOUD!2007-02-072 / 5
My 19 month old son received this for Xmas. He likes playing with it, since he loves his dad's tools so now he has his own. However, I cannot STAND it. The constant music and talking is so annoying, mostly because it is too loud. Unlike most toys that have 2 volume settings, this one only has one - HIGH. The designers of this toolbench obviously do not have children - if they did, they would have made a low and high volume switch. If you could control the volume, I would have a more positive review on this; I would not recommend this toy if you live in an apartment and have thin walls - your neighbor will want to confiscate it. I wish we had spent the $50 on something else.
