I was a bit hesitant to buy this toy after reading the earlier reviews, but my 7 year-old really wanted it (she saw the TV ads).
The pen really doesn't work very well, and we quickly figured out that tweezers make a great tool for placing the PixOs in the form. She's had fun building the suncatchers. She sprayed them with water herself and they stuck together just fine -- and are still hanging on our window after nearly a week.
After a little experience with this toy, my recommendation would be to go with just the forms and the beads. No need to buy the super studio, the pen, the spray bottles, the storage unit, etc. These can all be easily replaced (and improved upon) with tweezers, a squirt bottle, and Ziploc snack bags. |
