Use the Zero Smoke Ring Blaster to model nuclear fission plasmas! -- The Zero Blaster launches 2 to 6 inch diameter non-toxic fog rings that sail up to fourteen feet. Easy to use, it is a great stress buster and with practice you'll be able to create bigger and better rings. -- -- The Zero Blaster uses the same liquid that Hollywood uses in the movies to make special effects fog. Like a snowflake, each fog ring is unique, expanding at its own rate and traveling at its own speed. You'll be captivated by their beauty; mesmerized by the myriad shapes you'll discover in every fog ring you create. -- The Zero Blaster will provide hours of good clean fun for children and adults alike. -- A lot of how the Zero Blaster works has to do with your handling of it. There is an element of finesse you are going to gain as you improve and pit your skill against yourself and against others. The Blaster also provides a fascinating insight into the principles of physics. The fog ring is a rotating toroidal (donut shaped) vortex (whirling motion of liquid or air with a low pressure area in the center). -- For you technical types - the Zero Blaster has an elastic diaphragm that pushes a burst of air through a small opening. There are other toroidal vortices in our world, but most of the time you can't see them. Toroidal vortices can be made from simple air or water. They require only two things to exist: energy (applied in exactly the right manner) and a medium (air, water - or special effects fog solution). Many machines create their own toroidal vortex. They can occur around the wings of an airplane or in the wake of a boat; inside a centrifugal pump or in rocket blast. -- Click here for a VISUAL EXPLANATION of the physics behind the Zero Blaster! -- Zero Blaster comes in translucent red and ships with 3 ounces of Super Fog-Ring Fluid (cherry scent), enough for more than 25,000 fog rings! Requires 6 AA batteries (not included). -- For Ages 8+.

| I thought this looked like fun, so I got one. It does shoot a good smoke ring, I don't know about 14 feet, but maybe more like 6-8 feet. I like that it has a mute button for the trigger sound. You have to refill it every now and again, but not too often. You have to let it warm up for a minute to get the full effect. The solution (smoke rings) smell a bit, but not too much. The kids think its cool. |

| The photos are very misleading. I thought this looked like a lot of fun so I bought two. The toy does create rings but unless you are in the right light, or semi-darkness, they are almost non-visible. Even if you are in the right light so you can see the rings they travel 4 or 5 ft at best and are maybe two inches in diameter. Very disappointing and anti-climatic. Maybe my expectation were to high from the photo's I saw and what I read. |

I purchased this item trying to decide if it was suitable for several Christmas gifts. I was looking for something for ages 2-4, age 14, and for my husband and his brother.
I had planned to give it to my husband on the way to visit the 2 and 4 year old to see their reaction. A very stressful day came along first so I offered it to him as a stress reliever. It worked. He played with it for over an hour, taunting the cat ( it is nontoxic ) and it made a big difference in the end of his day.
I would recommend it for the stated ages 8 and up. I think it is too big and has somewhat of a learning curve to give it to younger children. I do think the younger kids would enjoy chasing the rings and moving them much the same way they do with a bubble machine.
I plan to purchase two more before Christmas. One for the 14 year old on my list and another one so that my husband can play with his dad or brother. If you have two of these you can shoot at each others rings and make them bounce or disipate. It is an indoor toy since air movement disipates the ring quickly. For the price it is a good value. It is also something that teens wouldn't think was a baby toy. |
