| My husband selected this planetarium for our daughter's Christmas present. The stars are amazing. It is really beautiful and looks fantastic on her ceiling, very bright and clear. It is worth the money. The whole family loves it from the the first grader to the grandmother. |

| I got one of these for my birthday a few months back and loved it. So I bought this for my mother for Christmas because she is bed ridden and I thought it would bring a little joy to her life. Mom passed on the Friday after Thanksgiving and I was worried how it would be received by my father. So we had an early, casual holiday in the basement and opened the gifts that we brought as my husband and I would not be back home till after Christmas. The whole family really liked the "Home star" All of us kids are in our 40's and the grand kids are in there late teens. We listened to Christmas music in the dark and talked a laughed it was nice time with all the bad stuff that had been happening to us. Everyone... Everyone said they wanted one for there bedroom. |

This is a great little planitarium projector. Based on other online reviews, I avoided the cheaper ones, and was glad I did. I placed the projector on a table in a room with a 10-12' ceiling, and the stars were very realistic. Since I was using it to teach constellations, I only played around with the rotation and meteor feature a little bit, but they seemed pretty cool too.
I don't know how it will hold up long term, but it seems reasonably sturdy. The little disks with the constellations are glass, though, and the little slot they slide into can be pulled out entirely and is a bit hard to get back in correctly. Putting the disks in and taking them out should be a job for a parent, teacher or older child.
If you want to see the stars, skip the projectors you can get for $30-$50 and go with this one. |

I received this for Christmas last year and was VERY disappointed.
The area of luminosity is extremely small and the further you place it from the ceiling, the dimmer the projected image is. I would not recommend it. It is very durable but for me unusable as I am looking for something to project over the entire ceiling |

| I still think it's overpriced for a "toy" and wish the projection was wider. Tilting the sphere creates a blurry projection so I leave it shooting straight up. I place it on a small side table about 1.5 ft. from the ground and the projection diameter is about 5 feet. I just wish it was huge, like the size of the whole room. You have to be in a pitch black room for the best effect. It makes a whirring sound if it's on rotate, but the sound isn't too loud. I wish a toy manufacturer would make a new and improved one that doesn't cost a lot, it's 2008! |
