What is Chan Pie Gnon?
In French it is a play on words: Chan Pie Gnon comes from the word Champignon and means Mushroom
Chan (blue) is the big brother, Pie (pink) is the sister and Gnon (yellow) is the little one.

My 1yr old LOVES pie - softer and easier to squeak than Sophie (which she also likes a lot) the cheeks, feet and horns are great for chewing on, and it has a nice comforting natural rubber smell. She has had it since she was 6 months old and along with Sophie and anything wooden by Haba its still in daily use.
| Great concept, but not so great in reality. Sophie's far better! | 2009-08-26 | 2 / 5 |

Purchased two in case one got lost. One squeaker was defective. The paint job on each was poorly executed--especially around the ears. Rubber "threads" trailed from the top of one. Very cute face, though. Also softer head and body than Sophie. Ears are a nice size for smaller mouths to nibble on. Easier to squeeze than Sophie. Too bad it isn't made as well as Sophie. We're sticking with Sophie.

I am sure I have seen toys just like this at the pet store and they are not as expensive for a little item like this. I bought this on another site for a little less $. Unfort I did not read on either this or the other site's descrip. that this toy squeaks b/c I generally dont like squeaks and would likely not have purchased, but even so, the squeak is exactly like what youd find in a dog toy, its loud and abrupt, not a nice pleasing one for parent or child, and I think it does sound anytime the baby touches it, although this may be true for me b/c my baby is older than most using this toy. She is 12 mos. and I was searching for a quality rubber teether for her as it seems rubber toys are what she likes to chew on, and I thought it would be better for her to adopt something actually made for teething...but I am finding it doesnt matter what I think...she's going to teethe on whatever makes her happy. As for the feel of the the rubber, I think it has a weird soft/floppy feel like a rubber chicken, and my daughter did not find it very fun to even hold it, although I do think she would like chewing on the little nubbies on the head if she gave it more of a chance. I think I'll just get another set of those rubber squirter toys made for the tub b/c that seems to be what satisfies her gnawing needs best and you get a bunch for less money than one of these little guys.

This toy is really cute and really easy for my daughter to hold on to. I love that its made of safe material and that it squeaks. Also that it can be used as a teether. I think it's worth buying.

I bought this chewy toy because it's made by the same company that makes Sophie the Giraffe. The texture is the same, but the base part of the toy is much too wide for little hands to grasp. It's also difficult to put in my baby's mouth. She attempts to chew on it, but can only get the bumps on the top of its head, making it ineffective for chewing.
